ladies!
It's been a couple of months in the planning, but we finally made it! It's a girls weekend!
Jo and I took half a day off work and hit the road - destination: Taupo!
Mum and Lorraine were coming down from Tauranga, but they started their shopping early in the day by hitting Rotorua first! Trudy was meant to join us, but sadly had a funeral to go to.
We got there, armed with nibbles and drinks, ready for a great weekend. We checked in, cranked the heater up and filled the spa pool! What more could we need?!
Saturday morning, we had a lazy start, then hit the shops about 10.30am. We started at one end of town and weaved our way through the streets. With a quick stop for lunch, we covered nearly every shop in Taupo. Unfortunately, they are generally shut at 3pm! We totally could've kept going! We stopped at the supermarket on our way home, to top up our nibbles and drink stash. 6 hours of shopping! Who knew you could do that much in Taupo?! They were quite good as they have lots of individual shops, not the normal chain ones we're used to in the cities.
Here's a photo of our shopping efforts!
Sunday was a STUNNING day to wake up to. A beautiful view across the lake to the 3 central mountains. Jo and I got home just after midday. I decided I still wanted to check out Hannahs (they were closed at 4pm when we got there), plus I wanted to get my new pants hemmed! So off to Hamilton centre I went!
Who doesn't love a weekend of drinks, shopping and good company?! When's the next one??!!

Lorraine is trying on my shoes (about 3 sizes too big) and Mum is eyeing up Jo's new top
Another spa with drinks and nibbles to finish the evening, while watching the Olympics, of course!Sunday was a STUNNING day to wake up to. A beautiful view across the lake to the 3 central mountains.
