I hate being sick :-(

Yes, I have been off sick lately. For those that laughed at me for being "hungover" on Sunday, SO THERE! I wasn't! I've been in bed Sunday - Tuesday with a stomach bug. Not nice at all. I'm back at work today (Wednesday) but am struggling quite a bit. See if I last ALL day!

The reason everyone thought I was hungover was because we had a few people around on Saturday night for drinks and pizza! Most watched the All Blacks rugby game while some of us watched Dirty Dancing (fast forwarding to all the good dance scenes)! We tried Goodfellas pizzas. Not too bad, but sure didn't look like the yummy pizza on their website.

Not much else to update on actually. Nothing exciting happened last week.

New flattie

This is my first proper update since I landed back in NZ. We've been back for nearly 3 weeks, and sometimes it feels like 3 months ago. Not much has actually happened, but getting back to reality took a good week, and now I'm back into my usual routines.

The only major thing that has happened since we've been back is our flatmate Craig moved out. We knew it was coming from a few weeks before we left, but coming back to NZ and him only having a week left with us, made it all seem like it happened so fast. Craig moved out about a week and we've been advertising for a flatmate since the week before we got back (thanks to Rach!). Today, Darren moves in. He's a 22 year old Communications Student at Waikato Uni. Seems like a nice guy from the couple of meetings we've had with him. He loves movies (so has something in common with Rach) and also spends LOTS of time on his computer (like Cameron!). Think hé'll fit in well!

Last Thursday a bunch of us went out for dinner at Gengy's to celebrate my birthday - ok I know it was nearly 2 months ago, but I didn't get to celebrate it with my kiwi friends!!!! Anyway, for those that don't know, Gengy's is a buffet-style stirfry. You go along the smorgsboard with a bowl and pick your choice of meats, vegetables, sauces and spices. You then give it to a chef who cooks it on this MASSIVE flatplate, which sits at about 600 degrees Celcius!! That's some fast cooking! I had a lamb stirfry to start with. Cause it's cooked so hot, it's seared on the outside, but still tender and moist on the inside. YUMMY! The second one I tried was chicken and shrimp. The key is to make a SMALL one! So I could barely fit in 2 servings, as I made the first one a full bowlful. But wait, there's more! Included in the price is an endless supply of pancakes, fresh off the grill! You get a fresh pancake, then go to the freezer to get a choice of 4 different ice creams and about 6 different toppings!!! And it's only $24.95 for the whole thing! So it was a great night with Cam & Rach, Kim & Quentin, Craig & Laurine, Jo and myself. Lots of catching up and MANY laughs!
