lots of changes for me
Well had a couple big of things happen to me recently.
Firstly, I bought a new car!!! 2003 Mitsubishi Lancer in a very pretty green! No photo taken yet, but if the weather is good, I may get on to it this weekend. Have only been driving it a couple of weeks!
Secondly, I got offered a new job! My darling sister found a job through her work (Hamilton City Council) and showed it to me. I thought about it then applied at the last minute. Last week I had an interview and they said they'd get back to me this week. On the Friday, they rang and asked me back for a second interview. I've never had a second interview before. It's always been one interview then you've got the job or you haven't. So this Wednesday been I went in for my second "interview". It was more just a meet and greet with the higher up boss. They rang me Wednesday night and offered me the job!!!!! My new job title is Application Support Analyst. I'm doing mainly software support, but the analyst side of things will be new to me! And I'm very much liking the new salary! Gotta love the salary rates in the city!!!
So I finish at South Waikato District Council on the 5th January. The rest of the IT team are on leave those 3 days after New Years and I normally cover them. Negotiated with my new boss to allow me to start the Monday after Camp Quality, which is the 15th January. How nice! Although I could have a holiday before I start my new job, I'm being nice and covering leave. Also a sly move on my part - that means I get paid for Christmas and New Years!!! Ah ha!! Doesn't really bother me as I will still be around home.
A note for those who don't know New Zealand well - I will now working in the same town I live in! I am currently working in Tokoroa, which is an hour from Hamilton, where I live.
Oh and last night, Rach made me a pavlova to celebrate me getting a new job! How lovely! And boy, did it taste gooooooooooooood!
